Factors are numbers that can be multiplied together to get another number. For example, the factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12 because you can multiply these numbers in pairs to get 12, like 3 times 4 or 2 times 6. Multiples, on the other hand, are what you get when you multiply a number by whole numbers. So, the multiples of 3 include 3, 6, 9, 12, and so on. This means that 12 is a multiple of 3 because you can get 12 by multiplying 3 by 4. Understanding factors and multiples helps us solve problems in math more easily!
