Comparing fractions helps us understand which fraction is larger or smaller. To compare fractions, they need to have the same denominator, or we can convert them to equivalent fractions. For example, to compare 1/4 and 1/2, we can change 1/4 to an equivalent fraction with a denominator of 4: 1/2 becomes 2/4. Now we can see that 2/4 is larger than 1/4. If the fractions have different numerators and denominators, you can also use a number line or cross-multiplication. This way, you can easily see which fraction is greater or if they are equal!
