Data distributions help us understand how numbers are spread out in a set. Imagine you and your friends measured how many books you read last month. If most of you read between 5 to 10 books, that shows a concentrated area of data. However, if someone read 30 books, that would be an outlier, meaning it's much higher than the rest. This is important because it can affect the average number of books read. To visualize data distributions, we often use graphs like histograms or box plots. A histogram shows how many friends read a certain range of books, while a box plot gives us a quick summary including the highest and lowest numbers. By looking at these visualizations, we can quickly see patterns and trends in our reading habits.
