Our school had a Science Olympiad team. I joined. I was determined to learn. The challenge was to master many topics. I had to study. I had a responsibility to my team. We competed against other schools. I learned to appreciate how much there is to know. The team had a positive influence on my learning. It became a tradition to meet after school. Our community was the team. We had achieved good results. I had discovered that science could be a team sport. I would never forget the competition. The Olympiad had changed how I saw science. I was grateful for the challenge.
