To find the area of a circle, you use the formula A = ฯ€rยฒ, where A stands for area and r represents the radius of the circle. The radius is the distance from the center of the circle to any point on its edge. First, you measure the radius. For example, if the radius of a circle is 3 centimeters, you would square that number: 3 x 3 = 9. Then, you multiply by ฯ€ (approximately 3.14). So, the area would be A = ฯ€ x 9, which is about 28.26 square centimeters. This means that if you were to cover the inside of the circle with tiles, you would need around 28.26 square centimeters of tiles. Understanding how to calculate the area of a circle helps in real-life situations like determining how much paint to use for a round table or how much grass is needed for a circular garden.
