Oxidation is a chemical reaction in which a substance combines with oxygen. When iron oxidizes in the presence of water and air, it forms rust, a flaky reddish-brown coating that weakens the metal.

Steps
Study the diagram and label the parts you recognize.
Create a density column: carefully layer honey, dish soap, water, vegetable oil, and rubbing alcohol in a tall glass. Drop small objects in to test where they float.
Note any unexpected results and think about why they happened.
