There are many types of government around the world, and each has its own way of making decisions. A democracy is a government where people vote to choose their leaders and decide on laws. In a monarchy, a king or queen rules the country, often passing their power down through family. Other governments, like dictatorships, have one person in charge, who makes all the rules without asking the people for their opinions.
