Latitude and longitude are the coordinate system used to pinpoint any location on Earth. Latitude lines run horizontally and measure how far north or south a point is from the equator, while longitude lines run vertically, measuring how far east or west a point is from the Prime Meridian. Together, these coordinates create a grid that allows for precise location identification. For example, the coordinates for the city of Paris are approximately 48.8566° N latitude and 2.3522° E longitude.
