Then & Now
๐๏ธ The rule you'll meet today is still on the books โ sort of.
The process of how a bill becomes a law in the United States is a vital aspect of the legislative system. It begins when a member of Congress introduces a bill, which is then assigned to a committee for review and debate. If the committee approves it, the bill is sent to the full House or Senate for voting. If both chambers pass the bill, it is sent to the President, who can either sign it into law or veto it. If vetoed, Congress can still pass the bill with a two-thirds majority in both chambers, showcasing the system of checks and balances.
