The Abolition Movement was a campaign to end slavery in the United States during the 19th century. Many people, including former slaves, activists, and abolitionists, worked together to fight against the unfair treatment of enslaved people. They used speeches, writings, and protests to raise awareness and gather support. One famous example is Frederick Douglass, who was an escaped slave and became a powerful speaker for abolition. He shared his experiences and argued that everyone deserves freedom and equal rights. The movement eventually led to the end of slavery with the passage of the 13th Amendment in 1865, which made slavery illegal.
