๐ŸงชLab Brief #22

Properties of Matter.

๐ŸŽฏ Your mission

Learn the rule. Then catch nature using it.

โšก The twist

Color changes mean atoms are rearranging โ€” even if you can't see them.

๐Ÿคฏ

Mind = Blown

๐ŸŒˆ Every color you see is your brain inventing a translation of light frequencies.

๐Ÿ”ฎ

Make a hypothesis first

Before you mix: what color do you think it'll turn?

What You'll Learn

Elements are pure substances made of only one type of atom. Compounds are substances made of two or more elements chemically bonded in fixed ratios.

Key Words

  • physical change
  • chemical change
  • temperature

Steps

Step 1 โ€” Read

Look at the vocabulary words and write a definition for each in your own words.

Step 3 โ€” Observe

Observe what happens and describe it in detail.

Step 4 โ€” Record

Record your observations in your science journal with measurements and descriptions.
