Paper Collage Landscape (Part 13)

Practice layering in this art lesson: paper collage landscape (part 13).

🎨 Studio Brief #61

Build a landscape entirely from torn and cut paper.

🎯 Your mission

Build it from stuff that was about to be thrown away.

⚡ The twist

No glue. Only folds and cuts.

What you'll learn

Build a landscape entirely from torn and cut paper. Overlapping layers of colored paper create a sense of depth—distant mountains behind nearby trees.

Step 1 of 3

Choose papers in blues, greens, browns, and white. Tear (don't cut) paper for a natural, soft edge.

Step 2 of 3

Start with the sky: glue blue paper across the top of your background paper.

Step 3 of 3

Layer distant mountains or hills using lighter, cooler colors. Overlap closer elements using darker, warmer colors.

Did you know?

🤯 Mind = Blown

🤯 You can fold a piece of paper at most about 7 times — physics gets in the way after that.
