A decision is a choice made when the outcome is uncertain, and a good process matters more than a lucky result. A workable method is to state the actual question, list real options rather than only the obvious two, identify what each option costs and risks, and check the decision against your own values before acting. Groups add a further problem: the loudest voice often shapes the room, so structured methods — writing views down before discussion, or asking the quietest person first — produce better results than open debate alone. Deadlines force decisions, but deciding early with poor information is not the same as deciding well. Reviewing a decision afterwards against what you knew at the time, rather than against how it turned out, is how judgement actually improves. Questions: 1 What four steps make up a workable decision process? 2 Why do groups need structured methods? 3 How should a decision be reviewed afterwards? www.littleactivity.com 6th Grade · Literacy
