Free printable earth's layers were deduced, not drilled science worksheet. The deepest borehole ever drilled reached about 12 km, barely scratching the crust, so the layered picture of Earth's interior comes entirely from how earthquake waves bend and stop. Wave speed jumps sharply at the Mohorovičić discontinuity, fixing the crust-mantle boundary; the S wave shadow zone fixes the outer core as liquid. Density rises from roughly 2.7 g/cm³ in continental crust to about 13 g/cm³ in the inner core, and that gradient is the fingerprint of a planet that sorted itself while molten. Part of the Earth Systems lesson track. For 8th Grade Science (ages 13–14).

Coding — If & Then — Part 1 SCIENCE · 1ST GRADE Name Date Learn the concept, study the code, then try the challenge! Coding Concepts Coding means writing instructions that a computer can follow step by step. Code Example: // Every program has: // 1. Input — data going in // 2. Process — what to do with it // 3. Output — the result Steps: 2. Plan your solution (algorithm) 5. Debug and improve 3. Write the code 1. Understand the problem 4. Test your code Try It! Write step-by-step instructions to make a peanut butter sandwich. Be specific! Debug Challenge: Your instructions say 'put peanut butter on bread' but the robot puts the jar on the bread! Coding — Events — Part 1 SCIENCE · 1ST GRADE Name Date Learn the concept, study the code, then try the challenge! Events & Control Events start your code. Control blocks like loops and if/then make decisions. Code Example: when [space v] key pressed if <touching [edge v]?> then turn (180) degrees end repeat (10) move (10) steps end Steps: 5. Test different event triggers 4. Try 'when key pressed' events 3. Use 'if...then' to check conditions 1. Start with a 'when green flag clicked' event 2. Add a 'forever' loop to keep code running Try It! Make a sprite bounce off the edges using events and if/then blocks. Debug Challenge: My sprite only moves once instead of forever. What's wrong? Coding — Variables — Part 1 SCIENCE · 1ST GRADE Name Date Fill in this page as you do your investigation. What are we finding out? What are variables and how do they store data? What we need: computer, code editor, practice exercises What I think will happen: Write your own: If I change ___, then ___ because ___ What I will change: Variable name and value assigned What I will watch: What the program outputs using the variable What to do: 1. Learn what a variable is 2. Create a variable and assign a value 3. Use the variable in your program 4. Change the value and observe 5. Try different data types What we saw: Variable Name Value Data Type score name Trial 3 What I learned: Variables are useful because... www.littleactivity.com 1st Grade · Science
