Ship a Web Page

Build a page about something you know, and put it somewhere real.

2 weeks✏️ Writing🔬 Science🧭 Life Skills

What you need

  • a computer
  • a text editor
  • a browser

Nothing to buy and nothing to print — if you do not have one of these, swap it for whatever you do have.

The steps

Day 1

  • Pick a subject

Choose something you already know enough about to write 300 words on.

    ✍️ Write a few sentences

Day 2

  • Structure first

Write the headings before the prose. One h1, then h2s.

    📋 Make a list

Day 4

  • Write the content

Fill in the sections. Write for someone who knows nothing about it.

    ✍️ Write a few sentences

Day 6

  • Make it HTML

Turn it into a real .html file and open it in a browser.

    📷 Take a photo

Day 8

  • Add an image properly

Add one image with alt text that describes it for someone who cannot see it.

    📷 Take a photo

Say this: “Alt text is not a caption. It is what the picture would say if it could talk.

Day 10

  • Check it

Open it on a phone. Does it still read? Fix what does not.

    📷 Take a photo
