What you need
- a phone or a pencil and paper
- sticky notes if you have them
Nothing to buy and nothing to print — if you do not have one of these, swap it for whatever you do have.
The steps
Day 1
Circles
Find five circles anywhere in the house. Photograph or draw each one.
📷 Take a photo
Day 2
Squares and rectangles
Find five. Then ask: which are squares and which are rectangles, and how do you know?
📷 Take a photo
Say this: “A square is a rectangle where all four sides decided to be the same.”
Day 3
Triangles
Triangles are harder. Find three. Look at roofs, sandwiches and coat hangers.
📷 Take a photo
Day 4
Count them up
Which shape did you find most of? Count each pile.
🔢 Write the number down
Day 5
Make the map
Draw the rooms and put one shape in each room where you found it.
