Build it together: Lift a grown-up

What you need

  • a plank or sturdy board
  • something to use as a pivot
  • a willing adult

Steps

  1. Set up the plank over the pivot. Put the adult on one end.
  2. Move the pivot closer to the adult, one step at a time.
  3. Find the point where the smallest child can lift them.
  4. Measure both distances and talk about why it worked.
