Finding the Steady Beat

Learn about finding the steady beat: identify the steady pulse in a piece of music

🎵 Stage Brief #1

Every song has a beat, even if you cannot always hear it clearly.

🎯 Your mission

Sing along — even if no one's listening.

⚡ The twist

Going up sounds happier. Going down sounds heavier. That's not magic — that's ears.

What you'll learn

Every song has a beat, even if you cannot always hear it clearly. The beat helps musicians play together at the same time. Tap your foot and count 1-2-3-4.

Remember

1Identify the steady pulse in a piece of music
2Clap or tap along with the beat accurately
