Reading Rhythm Patterns

Learn about reading rhythm patterns: understand dotted rhythms and their values

🎵 Stage Brief #2

Quarter notes get one beat each.

🎯 Your mission

Tap, tap, rest. Make the pattern stick.

⚡ The twist

Counting out loud helps more than counting in your head.

What you'll learn

Quarter notes get one beat each. Eighth notes are faster: two of them fit in one beat. Try clapping four quarter notes, then eight eighth notes in the same time!

Remember

1Understand dotted rhythms and their values
2Compose a simple 4-beat rhythm pattern
