Easy, Just Right, and Challenge Books

All three kinds of books have a place. Easy books are great for relaxing, for reading to a little brother, or for practicing smooth reading.

Just-right books are where you grow the most on your own, because you know most of the words but still learn new ones. Challenge books are ones you really want but that are hard right now.

Those are perfect to read with a grown-up, who can help with the tricky parts. For example, Maya reads an easy joke book for fun, a just-right chapter book on her own, and a challenge book about oceans with her dad.
