The Big Race

Today was the school race. All the first graders lined up. The teacher said ready, set, go! I ran as fast as I could. My legs pumped. My friend Jake was next to me. We ran side by side. The finish line was ahead. We crossed the line together. We both got a sticker. Mine said I did it! I was so proud. Mom was watching. She waved and smiled. I showed her my sticker. I will run again next year.
