Big, Bold, and Slanted Words

Give extra punch to words printed in bold, capitals, or slanted letters.

Sometimes an author prints a word in a special way to make it stand out. It might be in bold, dark letters, in ALL CAPITALS, or in slanted letters. These special words want extra punch. Read: 'The giant took one step. BOOM!

' The capitals tell you to read 'BOOM' strong and big. Or: 'I said I wanted the red cup, not the blue one. ' If 'red' is bold, lean on it. That shows which cup really matters. Special print is the author telling you, 'Say this part with power. '
