Addition to 1000 means adding numbers together to get a sum that is 1000 or less. For example, if you have 450 apples and you get 300 more, you can find out how many apples you have in total by adding 450 and 300. To do this, line up the numbers: 450 + 300. Start by adding the ones place (0 + 0 = 0), then the tens place (5 + 0 = 5), and lastly the hundreds place (4 + 3 = 7). So, 450 + 300 equals 750 apples!
