Subtraction to 1000 means taking one number away from another number up to 1000. For example, if you have 750 apples and you give away 250 apples, you can find out how many apples you have left by subtracting: 750 - 250. To do this, you can take away the hundreds first, then the tens, and finally the ones. So, 750 minus 250 equals 500 apples remaining!
