Simple machines are tools that help us do work easier. They change the way we move things. There are six types: the lever, pulley, inclined plane, wheel and axle, screw, and wedge. For example, a pulley helps lift heavy objects, like a flag on a flagpole. When you pull down on one side of the rope, the flag goes up!
