Rocks and minerals are natural materials found in the Earth. Rocks are made up of one or more minerals. For example, granite is a rock that contains the minerals quartz, feldspar, and mica. Minerals are solid substances that have specific chemical structures. Each mineral has its own unique color, shape, and hardness, which helps us to identify them!
