Place Words here, there, where

Read three words that tell or ask about place.

These three words all help us talk about place, and they all have 'here' inside them. 'Here' means close to me: 'Put it here. ' 'There' means farther away: 'The ball is over there. ' 'Where' asks about a place: 'Where is my sock?

' Notice that 'there' and 'where' sound alike at the end, rhyming with 'air'. A trick for spelling: 'here' is hiding in both 'there' and 'where', and all three are about place. Read: 'Where is the cat? It is not here. It is there, on the bed! '

• 1'here' means close; 'there' means farther away.
• 2'where' asks about a place.
• 3'here' hides inside 'there' and 'where'.
