Equivalent fractions are fractions that may look different but represent the same amount. For example, 1/2 and 2/4 are equivalent because they both show the same part of a whole. You can find equivalent fractions by multiplying or dividing the numerator and denominator by the same number. If you take 1/2 and multiply both 1 and 2 by 2, you get 2/4. So, 1/2 equals 2/4!
