The Greatest Common Factor, or GCF, is the largest number that can divide two or more numbers without leaving a remainder. To find the GCF, list the factors of each number and see which is the biggest one they share. For example, the factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12, while the factors of 8 are 1, 2, 4, and 8. The biggest factor they both share is 4, so the GCF of 12 and 8 is 4.
