📖 1 of 2

Matter is anything that takes up space and has weight. It comes in three main states: solids, liquids, and gases. Solids, like ice, have a fixed shape because their particles are tightly packed together. Liquids, like water, can flow and take the shape of their container since their particles are close but can move around.

📖 2 of 2

Gases, like air, fill up any space because their particles are far apart and move freely.
