I had to do a book report. I had read a book about a girl who sailed around the world. I had to write about the main character. I had to write about the problem in the story. I had to write about the ending. I sat down with paper and a pencil. I did not know how to start. Then I remembered what the teacher said. Start with one sentence. I wrote The main character is brave. I kept going. I wrote about the storm the girl faced. I wrote about how she never gave up. I wrote about the happy ending. I read it over. It was good. I had discovered that writing is easier when you take it one step at a time. Perhaps I would write more. I turned in my report. The teacher said I had done well. The adventure of the book report was over. I was proud of my work.
