A historical timeline is a way to show events in the order they happened. It helps us understand how events are connected over time. Timelines are usually drawn as a straight line with dates marked on it. For example, if we look at the timeline of American history, we might see 1492 when Christopher Columbus arrived in America, then 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was signed, and finally 1969 when humans landed on the moon. By organizing events this way, we can see how one event led to another and learn about important moments in history more easily.
