MLA stands for Modern Language Association, and it is a way to organize your writing and sources. When you write a report or a paper, you need to give credit to the authors of the books or articles you used. This is called citing your sources. In MLA format, a simple way to cite a book in your paper is to include the authorโ€™s last name and the page number in parentheses. For example, if you quote a book by J.K. Rowling, you would write (Rowling 45) at the end of the sentence. At the end of your paper, you also create a 'Works Cited' page to list all the sources you used, so others can find them too!
