Rounding decimals helps make numbers easier to work with by simplifying them while keeping them close to their original value. To round a decimal, look at the digit right after the place you want to round to. If that digit is 5 or more, you increase the rounding digit by one. If it's 4 or less, you leave the rounding digit the same. For example, if you want to round 3.76 to the nearest tenth, you look at the number in the hundredths place (which is 6). Since 6 is more than 5, you round up, making 3.76 become 3.8.
