Mean, median, and mode are three ways to find the average of a set of numbers. The mean is calculated by adding all the numbers together and then dividing by how many numbers there are. For example, if you have the numbers 2, 4, and 6, you would add them to get 12, and then divide by 3, resulting in a mean of 4. The median is the middle number when the numbers are arranged in order. In the same set of numbers (2, 4, 6), the median is 4 because it is in the middle. The mode is the number that appears most often. If you have the numbers 2, 2, 4, and 6, the mode is 2 because it appears twice, while the others appear only once. Each of these measures helps us understand different aspects of data.
