I tried out for the school play. I got a part. I was determined to learn my lines. The challenge was to act in front of people. I had a responsibility to the cast. I learned to appreciate how much work goes into a play. The play had a positive influence on the school. Everyone came to see it. It became a tradition to put on a play each year. Our community was the cast and crew. We had achieved a great show. I had discovered that I could perform. I would never forget opening night. The play had changed how I saw myself. I was grateful for the experience.
