Statistics is the study of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data. It helps us understand and make sense of numbers in real-life situations. For example, if a teacher wants to know how many hours students study each week, they might ask all the students in a class. After gathering the responses, the teacher can calculate the average study time. This average is a key statistic that shows what is typical for that class. Statistics can also help compare different groups. If the teacher wanted to compare study times between two classes, they could use bar graphs to display the data visually. This makes it easier to see which class studies more on average. Overall, statistics is a powerful tool that helps us make informed decisions based on data.
