📖 1 of 2

Sir Isaac Newton's laws of motion describe how objects move and interact with forces. The first law, also known as the law of inertia, states that an object at rest will stay at rest, and an object in motion will stay in motion unless acted upon by a force. For example, if you slide a book across a table, it eventually stops because of friction, a force acting against it. The second law explains how the speed of an object changes when a force is applied.

📖 2 of 2

It can be summed up with the formula F=ma, which means force equals mass times acceleration. This means that heavier objects require more force to move. The third law states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. For instance, when you jump off a small boat, you push the boat backward while you move forward. Together, these laws help us understand the motion of everything around us.
