Forces and motion are closely related concepts that help us understand how objects move. A force is a push or pull acting on an object, while motion is the change in an object's position over time. When a force is applied, it can cause an object to start moving, stop moving, or change direction. For example, when you kick a soccer ball, your foot applies a force to the ball, making it roll across the field. The speed and distance the ball travels depend on the amount of force you used. Newton's laws of motion explain how forces affect movement. The first law states that an object at rest stays at rest until a force acts on it, and an object in motion continues moving at the same speed and direction unless acted upon by a force. Understanding these concepts helps us predict how objects will behave in our everyday lives.
