Probability tells us how likely something is to happen. It is expressed as a number between 0 and 1, where 0 means it will not happen and 1 means it will definitely happen. For example, if you flip a fair coin, there are two possible outcomes: heads or tails. The probability of getting heads is 1 out of 2, or 0.5. This means there is an equal chance of landing on heads or tails. To find probability, you can use the formula: Probability = (Number of favorable outcomes) / (Total number of outcomes). If you roll a six-sided die, the chance of rolling a 3 is 1 out of 6, because there is one ‘3’ and six possible numbers. Understanding probability helps us make better decisions in uncertain situations, like predicting the weather or choosing games to play.
