The scientific method is a systematic approach to understanding the natural world. It begins with observation and the formulation of a question. A scientist then proposes a hypothesis, a testable explanation. Experiments are designed to test the hypothesis under controlled conditions. Data is collected and analyzed. If the evidence supports the hypothesis, it may become part of a broader theory. If not, the hypothesis is revised. This process of inquiry is iterative and self-correcting. Peer review ensures that findings are scrutinized by other experts. Science does not claim absolute truth; rather, it seeks the best explanation supported by current evidence.
