Getting My Listening Ears Ready

Before a story, we get ready to listen. Sit still, look at the book or the reader, and keep your hands calm.

Your ears are on! Good listeners think about the story while they hear it.

Try this with your grown-up: they read, A duck swam in the pond. Then you say one thing you heard: a duck!

That shows your listening ears worked.

• 1Sit still and look at the reader
