How a Book Works

Books have a front cover with the title, and a back cover. We hold a book right side up and open it from the front.

On each page, we read the top first, then go down. The words go from left to right, like a car driving across the page.

When a line ends, we sweep back to the left and start the next line.

• 1Start at the front cover
• 2Read top to bottom
• 3Words go left to right
