Animal Life Cycles

Lab Brief #1

🎯 Your mission

Learn the rule. Then catch nature using it.

⚡ The twist

What the body does in one minute is wilder than any cartoon.

What you'll learn

All animals go through a life cycle: they are born, they grow, they have babies, and they eventually die. Different animals have different life cycles.

Key words

life cycle
The stages a living thing goes through from birth to death.

Make a hypothesis first

Guess: how does the body solve this problem?

Say your guess out loud — then find out if you were right.

Step 1 of 4 · Read

Look at the new words. Can you say each one?

Step 2 of 4 · Do

Draw the life cycle of a butterfly: egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly. Label each stage.

Step 3 of 4 · Observe

Compare what happened to what you predicted.

Step 4 of 4 · Record

Tell the class one thing you learned today.
