What You'll Learn
Solubility describes how much of a substance can dissolve in a solvent at a given temperature. Most solids dissolve better in hot water, while gases dissolve better in cold water.

Safety First
- Adult supervision required for any heating. Hot glassware looks identical to cold — use tongs.
- Mop up spills straight away so nobody slips, and keep liquids away from sockets.
Steps
Look at the vocabulary words and write a definition for each in your own words.
Test how temperature affects dissolving: dissolve sugar in cold, warm, and hot water. Count stirs needed for each and create a data table.
Observe what happens and describe it in detail.
