What You'll Learn
Acids have a pH below 7 and taste sour, while bases have a pH above 7 and feel slippery. A pH of 7 is neutral, like pure water.

Safety First
- Wear eye protection, keep the substance off skin, and wash your hands when you finish.
- Mop up spills straight away so nobody slips, and keep liquids away from sockets.
Steps
Look at the vocabulary words and write a definition for each in your own words.
Test 5 household liquids (vinegar, milk, lemon juice, baking soda water, soap) with pH paper. Classify each as acid, base, or neutral.
Use your senses (except taste) to describe what you notice.
Write a summary of your findings in 3-5 sentences.
