What You'll Learn
Move a conductor through a magnetic field, or change the field through a coil, and a potential difference is induced. Faster motion, more turns and a stronger field all increase it. Every mains power station generates electricity this way, whatever the fuel.

Safety First
- Keep magnets away from the galvanometer's own movement when not in use.
Steps

Move a bar magnet in and out of a coil connected to a sensitive galvanometer. Record the deflection for slow and fast motion, reversed poles, and a stationary magnet inside the coil.
