On an oscilloscope, a higher-pitched note gives more cycles across the screen — higher frequency. A louder note gives a taller trace — greater amplitude. Pitch and loudness are independent: you can change one while holding the other steady.

Steps

Feed a signal generator into a speaker and an oscilloscope. Change frequency at fixed volume and sketch the trace; then change volume at fixed frequency and sketch again. Label which control altered which feature.
