The Spanish Conquistadors

The Spanish conquistadors were explorers and soldiers who played a crucial role in the Spanish colonization of the Americas during the 16th century. Led by figures such as Hernán Cortés and Francisco Pizarro, these conquistadors sought wealth, glory, and land.

They often encountered indigenous empires, such as the Aztecs and Incas, and used a combination of military force, alliances, and deception to conquer these civilizations. The conquests brought immense riches to Spain and had lasting effects on the cultures and populations of the Americas.
