Buffalo Soldiers

Buffalo Soldiers were African American soldiers who served in the U. S. Army after the Civil War. They were formed in 1866 and played a crucial role in the western expansion of the United States, protecting settlers and maintaining order.

The name 'Buffalo Soldiers' was given to them by Native Americans, who admired their courage and strength. These soldiers faced many challenges, including discrimination and harsh living conditions, yet they contributed significantly to events such as the Indian Wars and the establishment of national parks.
